Walk4Hearing - ROARING DAMASCUS LIONS

Between Pavilion B and C you could clearly see a group of Yellow Hats, Yellow Vests and a bit of purple mingled in - Couldn’t miss them, they were bright! There were 10 of them!
They had come to support the Walk4Hearing at the Damascus Regional Park on Sunday, October 28. And at the Sweepstakes end of the walk, there was another one with his car laden with water bottles for the walkers. The Roaring Lions were among approximately 150 supporters of the Walk4Hearing who had come to the park. It was a Beautiful, Crisp Autumn Day and a perfect one for a Walk thru Magruder Valley.
You could hear the Roaring Lions growling as they added the sums of money that the walkers had raised and they were excited as the numbers grew to $ 1,431.50. And then they had to find the 1way4Gran2hear Team and see how they were competing with the locals. Catching up they were and fast! The Roaring Lions were amongst 22 other teams of which have raised $39,457.50 to date.
Upon returning from the Walk, who should appear but our own District Governor Ted Ladd and First Lady Ann to support our efforts. He was genuinely interested in the thrust for awareness and advocacy of the Hearing Loss World since Lionism’s focus is Sight and Hearing. Look for his picture with some of the team in the C-News!
For the Walkers, the Pledgers and the Volunteers from the Damascus Lions - And Lion Marcia who led the Lions in this effort - Thank you for being a part of our first Walk4Heaing event in the National Capital Area. The more we can do to educate and advocate the hearing world of the hearing loss plight will be of great help in the coming years as we see more and more people with hearing loss reaching out in an effort to receive help.
